THIS ARTICLE EVIDENCES THE CONFLICT MANAGEMENT THAT PREDOMINATES IN THE FACULTIES OF ENGINEERING OF THE UNAC IN THE YEAR 2023, FOR WHICH IT WAS DEVELOPED THROUGH THE DESCRIPTIVE METHOD, USING THE SURVEY TECHNIQUE AND THE THOMAS-KILMANN INSTRUMENT, DETERMINING THAT THE MANAGERS AND TEACHERS OF THE FACULTIES OF ENGINEERING OF THE UNAC APPLY THE CONFLICT MANAGEMENT STYLE IN THE ORDER: COMPROMISING IN 23.54%; COLLABORATIVE IN 21.23%; COMPLACENT IN 20.85%; COMPETITOR IN 19.50%; AND EVASIVE IN 14.88%. THIS MEANS THAT CONFLICT MANAGEMENT OF THE COMPROMISING TYPE IS THE MOST APPLIED BY MANAGERS AND TEACHERS, WITH A PREDOMINANCE OF ASSERTIVE COMMUNICATION MANAGEMENT AND SOCIOEMOTIONAL SKILLS, HIGHLIGHTING THE ABILITY TO LISTEN AND NONVERBAL COMMUNICATION, AS WELL AS COLLABORATION FOR CONFLICT RESOLUTION IN SECOND PLACE; THUS, IT IS EVIDENT THAT BOTH MANAGERS AND TEACHERS ARE CONCERNED ABOUT CONFLICT RESOLUTION, ADOPTING IMPROVEMENT MEASURES, BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTAND THAT CONFLICT IS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR IMPROVEMENT, LEADING TO PROPOSE NEW OR CREATIVE SOLUTIONS, ALLOWING TO MAINTAIN THE STATUS QUO IN BALANCE; WHICH MEANS THAT THE CONFLICT MANAGEMENT THEY USE IS ACCEPTABLE. HOWEVER, THE LAST TWO STYLES DETERMINED, SHOW THE NEED TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION, SINCE THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT CONFLICTS HAVE A RISK OF WORSENING AGAINST THE HARMONY OF THE WORK ENVIRONMENT AND THEREFORE IT IS NECESSARY TO PROMOTE RESEARCH TO STRENGTHEN THE MANAGEMENT-TEACHER RELATIONSHIP, WHICH DESERVES GREATER TEACHER PARTICIPATION IN TRAINING PROGRAMS, THIS REQUIRES CONSTANT FEEDBACK, WHICH IS POSSIBLE THROUGH THE USE OF THE UNIVERSITY'S COMMUNICATION MECHANISMS SUCH AS CORPORATE E-MAILS AND OTHERS, SO THAT TEACHERS ARE INFORMED OF THEIR PERFORMANCE AND WITH GUIDELINES FOR IMPROVEMENT. LIKEWISE, THE AUTHORITIES MUST BE OPEN TO RECEIVE SUGGESTIONS FROM TEACHERS TO IMPROVE THEIR PROCESSES AND COMPETITIVENESS. © 2024 LATIN AMERICAN AND CARIBBEAN CONSORTIUM OF ENGINEERING INSTITUTIONS.
